Show Description
Dan likes TBL because it is very competitive and fun at the same time, and he thinks that changing the roster every season is a great way to play with a wide array of talent, making every season enjoyable. Dan got into hockey about 40 years ago when he began playing with his friends in a schoolyard.
Rob Wilson-White

Rob likes TBL because he thinks it is a great league with a bunch of great people. Rob enjoys hanging out with people watching the games and having a good time every week. He enjoys the camaraderie each Wednesday night and has made some good friends since joining TBL. Brent, the commissioner, does a great job managing the league and keeping everyone up to date. Here is some background information on Rob: around the age of 3 he started skating and played his first ice hockey game at 5. He played for Little Caesar’s in the early ’70s and continued to play through high school and college, up until joining the army. After 20 years he resumed hockey where he coached and started playing hockey again.

Matt enjoys playing hockey in the Triangle Beer League because he finds it to be a competitive and fun environment. He appreciates the opportunity to play with a diverse group of players and enjoys the camaraderie on and off the ice. Matt has been playing hockey for many years and continues to enjoy the sport.

Show Description
Tony started playing roller hockey due to striking up a friendship with a neighbor. After playing for a few years, Tony joined TBL in early 2022 because another friend recommended it. Tony loves the draft style of the league because it is a great way to meet new people and ensure the teams are balanced. The self-policing and “no jerks” policy keeps it fun for everyone and still competitive.

Amanda enjoys TBL because of the friendly competition. “TBL has a great balance between competition and camaraderie. The banter can’t be beat!” She enjoys the draft style and playing with different teammates each season.
Amanda grew up playing ice hockey. She joined the NWHL as a member of the Vancouver Griffins and later played NCAA Div I with Union College. She has experience coaching with the University of Washington as assistant coach of the men’s hockey team.

Matt had a childhood passion for roller hockey, but it took a backseat for many years as he pursued distance running. However, four years ago, he started playing roller hockey again and dove back into the sport. What Matt treasures most about TBL are the parking lot hangouts and the opportunity to share the rink with players of diverse backgrounds and experience levels. Through TBL, he not only sharpened his skills but also gained lasting friendships with individuals he met.
